"WTF" MOMENT: PITCHER'S VERY UNUSUAL THROW

The Oakland A's beat the Detroit Tigers 6-2 on Saturday night, but the most unusual thing happened, as Tigers' pitcher Justin Verlander committed what could be the 'balk of the year'.

The A's were leading 3-1 and a runner on first with David DeJesus batting, Verlander stepped away from the pitching rubber as he attempted to catch the runner on first base off guard. But the hesitation of Verlander caught himself in the wrong position to throw to first base so instead, he made a very unusual throw towards home and appeared to hit the surprised DeJesus on his right foot.

"What was that?!" Tigers analyst Rod Allen said.

A's manager Bob Geren called it "the strangest thing he had ever seen."

So what really happened?! Watch it here.
